IN SUMMARY: Find the beating heart of a script, then inhabit it. Request a free no obligation quote.
“And they lived happily ever after” begins with “Once upon a time” and someone to give voice to that story. That’s where I come in. Wherever there have been stories to tell, I’ve worked there, whether in person or from my voice booth.
I am a paid subscriber to SourceConnect Standard and I work from a beautifully constructed, double-walled, 1,000-pound isolation booth that allows two-way communication with studios virtually anywhere in the world and the ability to record in real-time. My primary microphone is a 1951 Neumann U 47 that was meticulously rebuilt by Bill Bradley at the Mic Shop in Franklin, Tennessee, and by Siegfried Thiersch in Germany. My AD/DA converter is a PrismSound Lyra II.
I am a professional, voting member of the World-Voices Organization, an international association of voice actors whose members have been meticulously vetted as professional voice actors. I am signed with agents in Los Angeles, Denver, and Atlanta, and I’m listed with select online voice casting services in the U.S. and Europe.
As a voice actor, whether narrating documentaries and corporate presentations or performing commercial voice-overs, my work is a simple, two-step process—finding the beating heart of a script and then inhabiting the words.
From my first serendipitous session on a soundstage in Paris, performing ADR for French and German race car drivers in a documentary for Renault, to my more recent work in LA, New York, Florence, Rome, Stockholm, Tokyo, Zürich, Barcelona, and Berlin, I’ve become adept at my craft. Moreover, I’ve become adept at working with producer-directors to support their vision.
There’s little I haven’t done as an on-camera and voice actor. I’ve voiced projects in virtually every medium including principal motion picture roles, radio and television commercials, documentaries, corporate identity presentations, training, eLearning, medical narratives, explainer videos, live events, movie trailers, electronic games, cartoon animation, telephone answering systems, and automated dialogue replacement. But that’s not all I’ve done.
For seventeen years, I was an award-winning copywriter-producer-director in a small but exceptionally talented ad agency, and I still take on the occasional writing, producing, and directing assignment.
I’ve also appeared in principal motion picture roles, including the Tom Hanks/Imagine Entertainment/HBO series “From the Earth to the Moon,” which won eighteen Emmy Awards.
I co-hosted the groundbreaking Home and Garden Television (HGTV) cooking show “All In Good Taste” and acted in professional theatre.
In short, my career in advertising, marketing, production, and as a voice and on-camera actor means that I almost invariably “get it” when it comes to the creative process and the needs of producer-directors and their clients. That means I also know how to take direction.
While I currently live in Georgia, I was educated in England and have lived in Paris, Athens, Greece, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon, so my natural accent is essentially neutral. My Character Voices and Cowboy Storyteller demos give an idea of my accent flexibility.
If you have a story to tell—doesn’t everyone?—I’d be grateful for the opportunity to make a case for hiring me as your storyteller.
